Do you ever feel like getting away from it all? A new glamping site has opened in Monticello, Utah, allowing guests to sleep in geodesic domes in a location that offers access to outdoor adventures.

Just under an hour’s drive from both Moab and the Canyonlands National Park, The Domes enable access to plenty of experiences for outdoor enthusiasts, such as hiking and climbing trails. Arches National Park is also one hour away by car. “It’s situated near a small town where there are a dozen or so restaurants within a drive and many more areas to explore, but [guests] will be awestruck by the stars at night while they lay in bed,” Josh Anderson of The Domes told Lonely Planet.

According to Josh, who runs the family company along with his father, the glamp site is the perfect escape for travelers wishing to unwind. Wildlife like rabbits and deer regularly wander through the area, and there is even a herd of goats that live on the property. Guests don’t have to sacrifice modern comforts however, with king-sized beds, bathrooms with showers, Wi-Fi and kitchenettes included in each of the domes.

The site is also near the Canyon Country Discovery Center, the Frontier Museum, Hideout Golf Course as well as the Native American rock art site Newspaper Rock.

The glamping site has undertaken intensive daily cleaning processes between guests in response to COVID-19, as well as going through Airbnb’s additional training to sanitize and deep clean the facilities. “Each dome is spaced 50 feet apart and the paths are situated so you don’t run into other guests, and each dome has its own private bathroom. It’s the perfect place to quarantine and chill while properly social distancing. Check-in is also totally contactless, guests simply receive a door code to their dome,” Josh said. According to the company, many of the guests have booked experiences as a change of scenery from working from home.

More information is available on the official website. The Domes are also available to rent through Airbnb.
