About Claire
In 2014, British writer Claire Bissell moved from Madrid to Amsterdam to be with her Dutch partner Victor Eekhof. Five years, three bikes, one baby and countless Broodje krokets (croquette sandwiches) later, the city is very much the place she calls home. In the past decade, Claire has travelled the globe, published her own travel blog and worked as a writer and researcher for Lonely Planet. Since the arrival of her daughter in 2019, Claire has been enjoying an altogether slower pace of life which has allowed her to rediscover and fall in love with the Dutch capital all over again. From their humble 1920s apartment in the Amsterdam Zuid neighbourhood, she continues to write and uncover the best food, drink and cultural spots Amsterdam has to offer.
