Greece’s national art museum has reopened in a brand-new state-of-the-art complex. The spacious galleries are arranged chronologically and thematically, making a superb tour of Greek painting from the 19th century to the present, with some of the real masterpieces being in the 20th-century collection. See wonderful works by Ghikas, Parthenis, Tsarouchis and Tetsis, and ogle the views from the enormous plate glass windows looking onto Lykavittos Hill. The sculpture collection is on view, at the National Sculpture Gallery in Goudi.
