Belfast's finest surviving Georgian building is Clifton House, built in 1774 by Robert Joy (Henry Joy McCracken’s uncle) as a poorhouse. It is now used as an events space. Worthwhile guided tours led by the archivist are given on Fridays at 3pm; outside tour times you can look around the building (unguided) if no event is taking place – call ahead to check.
