HMS Caroline

The UK's last surviving WWI Royal Navy cruiser, HMS Caroline (nmrn.org.uk; adult/child £11/9), has been converted into a floating museum at Alexandra Dock. Scheduled guided tours take in the captain's quarters, officers' cabins, marine mess, sick bay and galley kitchen, with interactive exhibits and a film dramatization of HMS Caroline's role in the 1916 Battle of Jutland. The engine room has been preserved as it was when it was an active warship. There are also interactive displays that simulate firing a torpedo and steering the ship. Allow at least an hour here.
